How to remove objects from photos with Erasekit (brush step-by-step)

Upload a photo, brush the object in red, click Remove. Erasekit costs 3 credits per erase (2 free daily for guests). Packs from $9.90; credits never expire.

Short answer: On Erasekit, upload a photo, paint red over the object you want gone, then click Remove. Guests get 2 free erases per UTC day; signed-in erases cost 3 credits. One-time packs start at $9.90. Credits never expire. Expect about 1–2 minutes per erase in typical conditions.

Before you start

  • Use a clear photo where the unwanted region is distinct from the background.
  • Prefer JPG, PNG, or WebP. Very large images are downscaled client-side (max edge 2048) before upload.
  • Only upload images you are allowed to process and publish.
  • Decide whether you will use a guest free erase or a signed-in credit erase.

Product overview: What is an AI object remover?.

Step 1 — Upload your photo

Open the homepage workspace and choose Upload Image, or drop a file into the upload area. Wait until the image appears in the editor.

If the file is rejected, switch to a genuine image format and try again. Unsupported or corrupt files will not convert just because the extension was renamed.

Step 2 — Brush what to erase

Paint in red over the person, object, text, or watermark. Leave the parts you want to keep untouched.

  • Adjust brush size for fine edges vs large fills.
  • Use Undo for the last stroke or Clear to start the mask again.
  • Cover the whole distraction; thin gaps can leave leftovers after inpainting.

The red overlay is your mask. Everything outside it is intended to stay as in the original.

Step 3 — Click Remove

Select Remove. Erasekit sends the photo plus mask for AI inpainting.

  • Guest: counts against the 2 free erases per UTC day (first-party cookie quota).
  • Signed in: reserves 3 credits. A confirmed failed provider call returns the reservation.
  • While processing, the UI shows a removing state; leave the tab open until the result appears or check status if the product offers a later view.

Typical completion is about 1–2 minutes. Longer jobs are allowed within the product’s task window.

Step 4 — Review and download

When the run finishes, preview the cleaned photo. Optionally compare with the original.

  • Choose Download to save the result (filename like erasekit-result.jpg).
  • Use Edit again to adjust the mask on the same upload, or go Back to start over.

Review likeness of edges, textures, and any remaining fragments before you share or print.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing happens on Remove: confirm the brush has at least one stroke and the image finished loading.
  • Free quota used: wait for the next UTC day as a guest, or sign in and buy credits.
  • Insufficient credits: each erase needs 3 credits; open Pricing for a pack.
  • Edges look soft or patched: tighten the mask, cover the full object, or try a clearer source photo. Another erase uses another free slot or 3 credits — it is not a free “fix.”
  • Payment or task error: contact support@removebgalternate.com.
